Prep: Competed as a multi-sport athlete in soccer and tennis at Gymnasium Buckhorn. When not competing with the gymnasium, he played for Walddörfer SV, starting all 30 games in which he appeared, netting eight goals and assisting on 11.

Personal: Son of Stefan and Kim Hillgruber... has one sister, Karlotta (21), and one brother, Konstantin (16)
