Converse Men’s Basketball Adds Five Transfers To Recruiting Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's basketball team added five transfers for the upcoming season.
 
"We look forward to having these student-athletes in our program," Converse University head men's basketball coach Kyle Perry said. "They not only bring experience but also are well rounded men that will contribute in the community and the classroom."
 
Ayden Hickman (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) – Is a transfer from Limestone University where he played in 85 games for the Saints. Hickman tallied 1,922 minutes at Limestone, 566 points, 158 rebounds, 120 assists, 76 steals and 26 blocks. Hickman played high school basketball at Myrtle Beach High School and played club for Upward Stars Southeast.
 
Mekhi Johnson (Allen, Texas) – Is transferring in from Paul Quinn College. Johnson averaged 11 points per game and nine rebounds per game last season. Johnson was also an HBCUAC all-Defensive Team and was named to the Presidents List. During his prep career, Johnson was a dual sport athlete at Allen High School playing both basketball and football. Johnson was the captain of the men's basketball team and led the Eagles to a District Championship. Johnson comes from an athletic family, his brother played college football and his cousin plays basketball for the University of Illinois.
 
Caden Kreger (Powdersville, S.C.) – Is transferring in from Lees-McRae College. In his one season with the Bobcats, Kreger appeared in 13 games and made one start. Kreger tallied 18 total points, five rebounds and two assists for the Bobcats last season. During his prep career, Kreger played at Powdersville High School and helped lead the team to both an Upper State and State Championship in 2024. Kreger was a two-time All-Region selection and played club basketball for Upward Stars and Atlanta Timberwolves. Kreger comes from an athletic family, his mother played volleyball at UNC Charlotte (93-94) and at Clemson (94-97).
 
Emmanuel Okogie (Snellville, Ga.) – Is transferring in from Limestone University where he played in 25 games for the Saints. While at Limestone, Okogie tallied 124 points, 62 rebounds, 23 assists, 12 steals and 14 blocks. Okogie had a career high 19 points against Newberry (1/15/25).
 
Kenny Vera (Fayetteville, N.C.) – Is transferring in from Lees-McRae College where he appeared in eight games for the Bobcats. While at Lees-McRae, Vera averaged 3.9 points per game and 1.3 rebounds per game. Vera added a trio of assists and a trio of steals to go with one block in his career at Lees-McRae. Vera scored a season high 10-points against Southern Wesleyan (12/13/25).
