SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their list of track & field and cross country Academic All-District honors and eight Valkyries earned the honor: sophomore Sara Aguiar Torre, junior Kamille Cunningham, sophomore Anna Katherine Evatt, sophomore Hailey Jones, senior Bella Martin ('26), sophomore Alex Porter, sophomore Marti Ruiz Barreda, and sophomore Kennedy Wright.

To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 GPA and sophomore standing both athletically and academically. They must also be ranked inside the top-50 for at least one individual track or field event during indoor or outdoor season. Additionally, a student-athlete may gain eligibility by placing in the top 50 at the regional cross country championship.

Aguiar Torre, a double major in accounting and economics from Gijon, Asturias, Spain, ranked 29th regionally in the indoor mile. She also ranked 44th in the outdoor 800 meters, 42nd in the outdoor 1,500 meters and 40th in the outdoor 5K.

Cunningham, a special education and early childhood education double major from Columbia, dominated the regional standings. She finished ranked seventh regionally and 58th nationally in the 60-meter hurdles, fourth regionally in the indoor high jump, 23rd in the indoor long jump and fourth regionally and 65th nationally in the pentathlon. She found equal success during outdoor season, ranking 24th in the 200 meters, eighth in the 100-meter hurdles, third regionally and 19th nationally in the high jump, 36th in the long jump, 30th in the javelin throw and second regionally and 22nd nationally in the heptathlon. Cunningham was the Conference Carolinas outdoor high jump runner-up and competed in the event at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships.

Evatt, a health and wellness and child and family studies double major from Orangeburg, found her way onto the regional rankings in multiple throwing events during indoor and outdoor season. During indoor season, she ranked 22nd in the shot put and 14th in the weight throw. She followed that up by ranking 27th in the shot put, 16th in the discus and 12th in the hammer throw during outdoor season.

Jones, a music therapy major from Moncks Corner, ranked 38th this season in the outdoor 10K.

Martin, a health and wellness and child and family studies double major from Irmo, graduated summa cum laude in May. She also earned the 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Elite 26 Award and was named the conference's outdoor track & field Scholar Athlete of the Year. She matched her high academic performances athletically as well, ranking 8th in the indoor shot put, 3rd in the indoor weight throw, 13th in the outdoor shot put, 21st in the outdoor discus and 2nd in the outdoor hammer throw.

Porter, a biology major from Simpsonville, ranked 50th in the indoor 5K and 28th in the outdoor 10K.

Ruiz Barreda, a business administration major from Girona, Spain, ranked 12th in the steeplechase.

Wright, a chemistry major from Spartanburg, ranked inside the top 50 in two events in both indoor and outdoor seasons. During indoor season, she ranked 12th in the 60-meter hurdles and 18th in the high jump. During outdoor season, she ranked 11th in the 100-meter hurdles and 13th in the 400-meter hurdles.
