Grace Davis led the way for the Converse University track & field teams with a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash on Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University. Senior

Isaac Gilmore placed eighth in the event's championship race. Junior
Kamille Cunningham also competed on Saturday, finishing tied for 20th in the high jump.
Grace Davis ran a personal-best 11.34 in the 100-meter dash, taking home bronze and earning Converse six team points. That put the Valkyries in 41st, their highest finish at outdoor nationals in program history.
Devron Davis finished in seventh place in the 200 meters with a time of 21.13, earning the Valkyries two points.
The men's 4x100 relay team finished eighth in the championship race with a time of 40.29, earning the Valkyries one team point. Between Davis's 200 meters and the 4x100 team, the Valkyries accumulated three team points, also bringing the men's program to their highest finish at outdoor nationals, tied for 45th.
Cunningham hit a mark of 1.62 meters in the high jump finals.
