EMPORIA, Kan. – The Converse track & field programs will compete for at least three individual national championships on Saturday as freshman Grace Davis won her heat of the 100-meter dash and the men's 4x100-meter relay team of junior Dorian Bomar, senior Devron Davis, sophomore Xavier Dixon and senior Isaac Gilmore finished inside the cut on Thursday evening at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University. It is the second straight year the men's 4x100 relay team has appeared 

The Valkyries' 4x100 team finished fifth in heat two of the event's preliminary rounds with a time of 40.26. That ranked them eighth across both heats, putting them into Saturday's national championship race. The race is scheduled for 4:30 P.M. Eastern.

Grace Davis recorded the fastest time across all three heats of the 100-meter dash as she ran a 11.51 to win heat three. She will compete on Saturday at 6:05 P.M. Eastern in the event's national championship race.

Devron Davis posted a time of 10.60 in the 100-meter dash, missing the cut for Saturday's national championship.

The Valkyries compete in just one race tomorrow, May 22, as Devron Davis runs in the preliminary rounds of the 200 meters. That race is scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Eastern.
