Select Valkyries Compete at Lenoir-Rhyne Last Chance

HICKORY, N.C. – With the 2026 Conference Carolinas Championships in the rearview mirror and the 2026 NCAA Outdoor National Championships fully in sight, the Converse University track & field teams had six athletes compete in four different events this weekend at the LR Last Chance. Two Valkyries improved their season-best times.

Women's Notes:

Freshman Aayah Thomas finished first in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 11.76, her season best.
The quartet of junior Kamille Cunningham, freshman Grace Davis, Thomas and sophomore Kennedy Wright also finished first at the meet with a time of 45.70 in the 4x100-meter relay.
Cunningham hit a mark of 1.64 meters in the high jump, placing first at the meet.

Men's Notes:

Sophomore Dre'Kevan Thomas improved his season-best time in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.31 in the preliminary round. He is now tied for the fastest time in the event with teammate Nick Tibolla.
- Thomas finished third in the event finals with a time of 14.36 while Tibolla finished fifth with a time of 14.49.
