Bomar and Davis Qualify For NCAA Indoor Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in program history, members of the Converse University track & field teams are heading to the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships as junior Dorian Bomar and freshman Grace Davis both qualified in the 60-meter dash.

The national championship meet will be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14.

"Grace and Dorian have worked extremely hard to be amongst the best sprinters in the nation," stated Converse Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Brandon Morton. "Them going to Division II nationals is a testament to their hard work, mindset and the culture of our program. The goal is to ascend to national status as a program and they are leading the way."

Bomar, one of the Conference Carolinas Co-Track Athletes of the Year, qualified tied for 14th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.70. He was the runner-up in the event at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships.

Davis was the Conference Carolinas champion in the 60-meter dash. After leading the nation in the event for most of the season, Davis enters the national championship meet as the No. 2 seed with a qualifying time of 7.27.

In addition to Bomar and Davis, four other athletes from Conference Carolinas also qualified for the meet in six events. All four athletes are women from Mount Olive.
