SPARTANBURG, S.C.  – The Converse University men's tennis team took on the No. 10 North Georgia Nighthawks Sunday afternoon at the Rose, fighting valiantly but ultimately falling to the nationally-ranked Nighthawks 5-2.

Juniors Ben Hyde-Smith and Remedios Naval won the Valkyries' lone double victory with a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Sophomore Lucas Walker won the Valkyries' first singles point with a three-set, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.

Senior Marty Letessier won the Valkyries' other point, also utilizing a three-set victory. He won 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 at No. 4 singles.

Next Up For Converse:
The Valkyries take on their second of three consecutive nationally-ranked opponents as they head on the road to take on No. 8 Catawba on Saturday, Feb. 14. The match is set to begin at 1:30 P.M.
