SALISBURY, N.C.  – In the team's toughest road test so far this season, the Converse University men's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 8 Catawba College on Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center.

Catawba won Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, leaving No. 3 doubles unfinished at 5-5.

Junior Manuel Roncero won the Valkyries' lone point of the match, winning 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Catawba won the other five singles matches in two sets.

The Valkyries' early-season gauntlet continues as they host No. 21 Lander at the Rose on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2 P.M.
