TRYON, N.C. – Freshman Grace Davis highlighted the ECE Banked is Best for the Converse University track and field team by running a 7.34 in the 60-meter dash prelims and topping that with a 7.29 in the following round. Both times rank her first nationally in Division II.

On the men's side, juniors Dorian Bomar and Nick Tibolla shined winning the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles respectively.

Men's Notes

• Bomar ran a 6.76 in the 60-meter dash, winning the event. Sophomore Xavier Dixon ran a 6.82 and took silver.
• Tibolla ran an 8.05 in the 60-meter hurdles, setting a new season-best time and improving his lead in both Conference Carolinas and the southeast region in the event.
• Senior Devron Davis and junior Dorian Bomar placed fifth and ninth in the 200 meters with times of 21.85 and 21.94 in the event.
• Senior Isaac Gilmore finished with a time of 49.10 taking silver in the 400 meters. He currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas and third in the southeast region via his time from the team's previous meet.
  • Freshman Neale Johnson ran a time of 50.47 in the event and finished 11th.
• Sophomores Ander Vera Moleres and Marti Ruiz Barreda finished in 11th and 12th in the 3K, finishing with times of 8:52.40 and 8:53.23 respectively. These are both PRs.
• Junior Omarion Belton reached a mark of 7.02 meters in the long jump, placing ninth.
  • He also hit a mark of 13.11 meters in the triple jump.
• Junior Aubrey Hemphill hit a mark of 15.57 meters in the weight throw and placed seventh in the event.
• Freshman Benjamin Notarangelo and junior Hunter Heron finished with times of 2:01.12 and 2:04.77 respectively in the 800 meters.
• Notarangelo ran a 4:33.29 mile as well.

Women's Notes

• Davis highlighted the meet with her 7.29 60-meter-dash performance.
• Senior Bella Martin earned a bronze finish in the weight throw with a mark of 15.16 meters.
  • Sophomores Asha Curry and Anna Evatt hit marks of 13.21 meters and 12.59 meters in the event, both PRs.
• Martin also threw a mark of 11.30 meters in the shot put.
• Junior Kamille Cunningham hit a mark of 1.58 meters in the high jump, finishing in ninth. Sophomore Kennedy Wright hit a mark of 1.53 meters and finished in 12th.
• Wright also finished the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.25 seconds.
• Freshman Alayah Thomas led the way for the Valkyries in the 200 meters with a time of 25.58 seconds.
• Junior Jermyra Bethel did so in the 400 meters with a time of 59.52 seconds.
• Freshman Evie De Roos led the way in the 800 meters and the mile with times of 2:27.02 and 5:15.51 respectively.
• Sophomore Sara Aguiar Torre did so in the 3K with a time of 10:50.37 and junior Paisley Stepp was the lone Valkyrie to run the 5K with a time of 19:52.95.
