SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Despite striking first, the Converse University men's soccer team (5-2-4, 3-1-3 Conference Carolinas) allowed a second-half goal to the North Greenville Trailblazers (3-6-2, 3-2-2 Conference Carolina) to end the teams' Saturday divisional contest in a 1-1 draw.

Freshman goalkeeper Thiago Ausland played all 90 minutes and recorded two saves.

Sophomore forward Levi Bankirer got the day's scoring started with a goal in the 13th minute.

Both teams created opportunities for themselves over the rest of the first half, but neither was able to score as Converse took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

The lead lasted just under 15 minutes into the second half as NGU graduate defender Zac Zborovsky scored the equalizing goal off of a corner kick.

Both teams made pushes towards the goal late in the second half, but neither was able to capitalize on them, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
