Women’s Tennis Defeats Benedict, Extends Win Streak to Three Matches

SPARTANBURG, S.C.  – For the third time in five days the Converse University women's tennis team (5-5, 0-2 Conference Carolinas) won their match, this time defeating the Benedict College Tigers (4-5, 4-2 SIAC) by a final score of 5-2 at the Sally Abney Rose Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, Converse extends their win streak to three matches, tied for the longest since the Valkyries won seven in a row during the 2021 spring season.

Juniors Khushi Kharb and reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Lais Martins won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. A default victory at No. 3 doubles gave the Valkyries the doubles point.

Kharb won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and freshman Agustina Pieve won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.

Martins won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and senior Brooke Benefield won by default at No. 6 singles.
