SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the third time in five days the Converse University women's tennis team (5-5, 0-2 Conference Carolinas) won their match, this time defeating the Benedict College Tigers (4-5, 4-2 SIAC) by a final score of 5-2 at the Sally Abney Rose Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, Converse extends their win streak to three matches, tied for the longest since the Valkyries won seven in a row during the 2021 spring season.
Juniors
Khushi Kharb and reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Week
Lais Martins won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. A default victory at No. 3 doubles gave the Valkyries the doubles point.
Kharb won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and freshman
Agustina Pieve won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Martins won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and senior
Brooke Benefield won by default at No. 6 singles.
Next Up For Converse:
The Valkyries are back in action on Saturday, March 15 as they head to Greenwood to take on the Lander Bearcats. The match is set to begin at 2 P.M.
