GREENVILLE, S.C.  – The Conference Carolinas office announced their weekly swimmer of the week awards on Wednesday morning, Converse University swimmers Emily Byrne (Simpsonville, S.C.) and Louis Milczynski (Montauban, France) both earned the honor this week.
 
On the women's side, Byrne helped the Valkyries go 1-1 this past week with a 148-50 win over King and a loss to UNC Pembroke. As an individual, Byrne won the 100 backstroke event with a time of 59 seconds, and finishes second in the 100 IM event with a total time of 1:01.62. As a member of the 200 medley relay team, Byrne helped the Valkyries to an event win with a total time of 1:51.13.
 
On the men's side, Milczynski helped the Valkyries to a 131-72 victory over King. As an individual, Milczynski won the 100 IM event with a total time of 53.47 seconds. The junior helped the 200 freestyle and the 200 medley relay teams to a pair of wins during the meet.
 
Byrne, Milczynski and the rest of the Converse swim team are currently preparing for the Conference Carolinas Championships. The meet will start on February 19^th and will run through February 22^nd in Cary, N.C.
