CLINTON, S.C.  – The Converse University men's and women's tennis teams (both 1-3) competed in their second exhibition against a Division I opponent, this time squaring off with the Presbyterian College Blue Hose (women 4-10, men 5-5). The Blue Hose women won 7-0 and the Presbyterian men won 6-1.

As an exhibition, the game does not count against the Valkyries' records.

Women's Notes:

Juniors Khushi Kharb and Lais Martins finished doubles play last at No. 1 doubles, losing 6-3.

Fellow Junior Laurel Maynor won her first set 6-4 before losing the next two sets.

Men's Notes:

Sophomore Takuma Furumaki and junior Stanley Waters won a 6-2 decision at No. 2 doubles to force No. 3 doubles as the decisive court for the doubles point. The Blue Hose took No. 3 doubles 6-3.

With PC up 3-0, sophomore Manuel Roncero took a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles, giving the Valkyries their lone point of the match.

Freshman Lucas Walker took his second set at No. 4 singles but fell 6-2 in the decisive third set.

Next Up For Converse:

The Valkyries are back on the court as they head to Young Harris, Georgia to begin conference play against the Young Harris Mountain Lions. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 P.M.
