Valkyries Shine in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – With five combined nationally-ranked performances and 44 top-ten performances among Conference Carolinas student-athletes, the Converse University track and field programs are off to a strong start for the 2025-26 indoor track season.

Men's Notes
  • Junior Dorian Bomar won the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.70, ranking him tied third in the nation in the event this season.
    • Freshman Xavier Dixon finished with a time of 6.78, ranking him second in Conference Carolinas in the event behind Bomar.
    • Senior Devron Davis finished ninth at the meet with a time of 6.91 and ranks sixth in Conference Carolinas.
  • Junior Nick Tibolla placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.20. He ranks first in Conference Carolinas this season.
  • Bomar and Dixon finished fifth and sixth respectively in the seeded 200 meters. Bomar finished with a time of 21.40 while Dixon ran a 21.44. They also rank fifth and sixth nationally in the event.
    • Bomar also set a school record in the event.
    • Davis finished eighth in the event with a time of 21.54 and ranks ninth nationally.
  • Senior Isaac Gilmore won the 400 meters with a time of 48.58. He ranks first among Conference Carolinas student-athletes this season. This is a school record in the event.
  • Junior Hunter Heron and freshman Benjamin Notarangelo finished the mile with times of 4:29.40 and 4:29.94 respectively.
  • Sophomore Ander Vera Moleres finished seventh in the 5K with a time of 15:14.21 in seventh place. He ranks first in Conference Carolinas.
  • Freshman Neale Johnson finished second in the long jump with a mark of 7.13 meters, also ranking him first in Conference Carolinas this season.
    • Junior Omarion Belton finished eighth at the meet and ranks third in Conference Carolinas. He hit a mark of 6.83 meters.
  • The men's 4x400 meter relay of Dixon, Gilmore, Johnson and junior Denard White Jr. finished the race with a time of 3:18.17 in fourth place. They rank first in Conference Carolinas.
  • Junior Aubrey Hemphill hit a mark of 14.73 in the weight throw, setting a new school record.

Women's Notes
  • Freshman Grace Davis won her first-ever collegiate race, taking first in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.49. She currently ranks second in Conference Carolinas and seventh nationally in the event.
    • Davis also set a school record in the event.
  • Junior Kamille Cunningham placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.54 meters. She is currently ranked tied second in Conference Carolinas in the event this season.
    • Senior D'asia Thomas hit a mark of 1.49 in the event, placing 13th at the meet and ranking tied fifth in the conference this season.
  • Sophomore Asha Curry placed 12th in the shot put at the event. She ranks first in the event in Conference Carolinas.
    • Senior Bella Martin placed 16th at the meet and ranks fourth in Conference Carolinas.
  • Martin placed sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.16 meters, ranking her first in Conference Carolinas this season.
    • Curry hit a mark of 13.12 meters, finishing 14th at the meet and ranking fifth in Conference Carolinas.
  • The Valkyries' 4x400 meter relay of freshman Kyla Beasley, junior Jermyra Bethel, sophomore Triniti Muldrow-Green and sophomore Kennedy Wright finished fifth at the meet in the event. They rank first in Conference Carolinas this season.
  • Freshman Alayah Thomas finished 12th in the seeded 200 meters. She finished with a time of 25.58, ranking her fifth in the conference.
    • Thomas's time of 7.82 in the 60 meter dash ranks her fifth in Conference Carolinas in that event as well.
  • Bethel finished 12th in the seeded 400 meters and Beasley finished ninth in the unseeded 400 meters.
  • Freshman Evie De Roos finished 13th in the mile with a time of 5:23.84 and 18th in the 3K with a time of 10:36.71. She ranks first in Conference Carolinas in the 3K and second in the mile.
The Valkyries return to the track on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026 for the ASICS Superblast Invitational at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
