GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their weekly Player of the Week Awards on Monday afternoon, Converse University Redshirt Freshman Will Fowler (Duncan, S.C.) was named Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts on the court this past week.
 
Fowler helped the Valkyries to a 2-0 week with wins over Northwest Divisional rival North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. On Tuesday evening, Fowler scored 22 points against the Trailblazers and scored the game-winning three-pointer as time expired. Fowler's last second three-pointer made it on ESPN's SportsCenter the following morning.
 
Following his viral performance on Tuesday evening, Fowler scored a career high 35 points against Southern Wesleyan. Fowler's career performance set the program record for points in a game and he tied the school record for made free throws in a game with 11 against the Warriors.
 
Overall this past week, Fowler averaged 28.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game and 0.5 steals per game. The Palmetto State native shot 53 percent from the field, 60 percent from three-point range and 88 percent from the free throw line.
 
This is Fowler's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of his career. Fowler and the rest of the Converse men's basketball team will be back in action this coming Saturday against Belmont Abbey. Tip-off for Saturday's match is set for 4:00 p.m. inside the Weisiger Center.
