HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Converse University women's basketball team dropped their Saturday matchup against the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters at B. Frank Turner Arena by a final score of 86-41.

Converse falls to 0-2 on the season while Lincoln Memorial improves to 2-0.

Senior Andrea Gutierrez Ciordia led Converse in scoring with 14 points.
 
How It Happened
The Railsplitters built a 10-point lead before senior Tatiana Brown scored the first basket for the Valkyries. That lead grew to 17 points before the quarter's end.

Converse opened the scoring in the second quarter as freshman London Vaughn sank a basket, but Lincoln Memorial regrew their lead as high as 36 and held a 51-18 advantage at halftime.

Brown netted the first basket in the second half, but the story remained mostly the same as Converse trailed 78-27 heading into the fourth quarter.

Converse outscored the Railsplitters 14-8 in the final quarter. The Valkyries held LMU scoreless over the final six minutes of the game.
 
Inside the Box Score

• For the second time this season, Gutierrez Ciordia led the Valkyries in scoring. She posted 14 points and on 4-10 shooting, 1-2 from three-point range.
• Brown also recorded double digit points, scoring 10 on 5-13 shooting.
• Gutierrez Ciordia and Brown both secured a team-high 10 rebounds.
• Converse shot 17-61, 27.9 percent, from the field.
• The Valkyries grabbed nine offensive rebounds, converting them into 10 second-chance points.
• Converse also converted 13 LMU turnovers into six points.
