SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University Athletic Department held their fifth annual golf tournament last week at the Carolina Country Club and it was a huge success for both the players and the athletic department.
This year's tournament saw a total of 22 teams and 84 golfers in the field. All proceeds from the tournament will go towards enriching the student-athlete experience at Converse University.
"The fifth annual golf tournament was a wonderful celebration of community and competition," Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics
Jenn Bell said. "We're incredibly grateful to our title sponsor, Gibbs International, Inc. and Mr. Jimmy Gibbs, as well as to all team sponsors and participants for their generosity and support. Their continued support and partnership helps us create meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes to grow, compete, and lead both on and off the field. The energy and spirit throughout the day truly reflected what makes the Converse community so special."
The first-place team in this year's tournament was Republic Finance: Cooper Simmons, Travis Crocker, Trenton Crocker and Cason Mabry.
The second-place team was First Horizon Bank: Kin Britton, John Natale, Austin Herbert and Billy Jackson.
