Bree Lyons (Oxford, Miss) has been named Player of the Week for her efforts on the court last week.
Lyons helped the Valkyries to a perfect 3-0 week with wins over Southern Wesleyan, Lees-McRae and Young Harris. The Valkyries are now a perfect 5-0 in Northwest Division action and they have won eight straight conference matches dating back to the middle of September.
Lyons tallied 41 kills and 20 digs while hitting .267 on the week. Against Lees-McRae, Lyons tied her career high in kills with 17 as the Valkyries completed their second sweep of the week. Lyons has tallied at least 10 kills in six straight matches for the Valkyries.
Lyons and the rest of the Converse volleyball team will be back in action tomorrow night against King University. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., inside the Weisiger Center.
