Women’s Lacrosse Dominates North Greenville

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the first time since 2015, the Converse University women's lacrosse team defeated North Greenville by a final score of 22-6 at Weisiger Stadium.

The Valkyries snapped a two game losing skid dating back to March 23rd and improved to 7-7 overall this season and 3-4 in Conference Carolinas action. Converse also ended an eight game losing streak to North Greenville on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, North Greenville drops to 4-12 overall and 3-5 in Conference Carolinas play.

Converse dominated the game from the start as they opened the game on a 6-0 run. Freshman Izzy Eby and Becky Reinhard led the way with a pair of goals each during the first ten minutes of action. Ainsley Woodham got the Crusaders on the board with 3:32 to play in the opening period. Karly Driscoll and Reinhard scored the final two goals of the first quarter to give Converse an 8-2 advantage.

In the second quarter, the Valkyries kept the flow going offensively as they outscored the Crusaders 6-0 in the period. Driscoll, Coan, Holleran and Reinhard all had goals in the period. The Valkyries kept the game out of reach in the second half as they outscored North Greenville 8-4.

Reinhard's seven goal performance led the Valkyries once again, the freshman now has 54 goals this season. The New York native becomes the first Valkyrie since 2019 to score at least 50 goals in a single season, and now ranks fifth all-time for goals in a single season (54).

Karter Lauer finished second on the team with a career high four goals against the Crusaders. Meanwhile, Megan Holleran, Izzy Eby and Karly Driscoll all had hat tricks in the victory for the Valkyries.

Hailey Obenchain led the team with seven assists in the victory. The sophomore now has even 40 assists on the season, which ranks second all-time for assists in a single season. Obenchain's 67 points also ranks just outside the top-five all-time for points in a single season in program history.
