SPARTANBURG, S.C.  – Taking on their second ranked team in as many days, the Converse University men's tennis team (8-9, 3-5 Conference Carolinas) fell 6-1 to the No. 43 Francis Marion Patriots (11-7, 5-3 Conference Carolinas).

After the Patriots took the first doubles match at No. 1 doubles, sophomore Stanley Waters and freshman Ben Hyde-Smith won a 6-1 decision at No. 3 doubles. With the point on the line, the Valkyries at No. 2 doubles in a tie-breaking 13th set.

Francis Marion won the first five singles matches, securing their six points. Freshman Manuel Roncero got Converse on the board by winning 6-3, 6-0
