GREENWOOD, S.C.  – Facing off against their first nationally-ranked opponent of the season, the Converse University men's tennis team (5-5, 0-1 Conference Carolinas) fell to the Lander Bearcats (9-1, 1-0 Peach Belt) by a final score of 7-0.

The teams played doubles to clinch and Lander won No. 2 doubles then No. 1 doubles to secure the point.

The Valkyries came closest to winning at No. 3 and No. 5 singles where Lander took both matches 6-4, 6-3.

With their nonconference schedule completed for the season, the Valkyries return to the courts on Wednesday, April 3 as they travel to Bristol, Tennessee to take on the King Tornado at 2 P.M.
