FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.  – Despite the team taking a loss against the Emmanuel Lions (6-4, 1-0 Conference Carolinas), freshman Takuma Furumaki of the Converse men's tennis team (5-4, 0-1 Conference Carolinas) won both his singles and doubles matches. The Valkyries fell 5-2.

After the Lions won on courts one and two, Furumaki and his partner, fellow freshman Manuel Roncero, won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.

Although the match was decided by the time Furumaki finished his singles match, he still managed an impressive 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles.

Junior Cameron Davies followed with an 8-7 super-set victory at No. 6 singles. He won the tiebreaker 7-5.

The Valkyries took all four singles matches they lost to three sets.

The Valkyries return to the courts on Tuesday, March 26 as they take on Lander in a road matchup beginning at 2:30 P.M.
