Coan and Reinhard Record Hat Tricks Against Wilmington

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University lacrosse team fell 20-9 to Wilmington on Wednesday night at Weisiger Stadium.

With the loss Converse drops to 2-3 on the season, while Wilmington improves to 3-0 on the season. Converse is now 2-2 in home games this season with the loss to the Wildcats.

The Wilcats took control from the opening possession and started the game on a 10-0 run. Megan Holleran scored in the final seconds of the first quarter to get the Valkyries on the board.

In the second period, Coan scored both the first and last goals of the period. Karter Lauer scored the third goal during the second quarter for the Valkyries. Going into the halftime break, the Valkyries trailed 13-4 to Wilmington.

In the third period the Valkyries offense came alive as they scored three straight woman down goals starting at the 8:32 mark. Converse went into the final period of play down 16-8 against the Wildcats. In the fourth period the Wildcats outscored Converse 4-1.
