Injury Bug Catches Up With Valkyries

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Converse University women's soccer team (8-6-3, 6-3-3 Conference Carolinas) again found themselves without several key players as they wrapped up the regular season by falling to the North Greenville Trailblazers (2-9-5, 2-7-3 Conference Carolinas) by a final score of 2-0.

The Valkyries, despite the injuries, managed to outshoot the Trailblazers 8-5. Each team took three shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Allie Nepomuceno played her first complete game of the season and recorded one save.

Nepomuceno and senior defender Madison Free were the only Valkyries to play all 90 minutes of the game. In total, 21 different Valkyries saw action on the pitch for at least six minutes. Sophomore Drey Nesbitt led the Valkyries in minutes off the bench with 51.

With the regular season's conclusion and Conference Carolinas KPI calculations completed, the Valkyries, the fifth seed in the conference tournament, will host the Trailblazers, the eighth seed, on Thursday, Nov. 7 at Weisiger Stadium.
