GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their first edition of weekly awards for the 2024-25 men's basketball season on Monday, Converse University forward Jaylen Golston (Columbia, S.C.) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance on the court this week.  
 
Golston helped the Valkyries to a 1-1 record this past week. In two starts, the redshirt-freshman averaged 8.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, 2.5 steals per game and three total blocks. Golston also shot 50 percent from the field.
 
Golston will be back in action with the rest of the men's basketball team this coming Wednesday night against North Georgia. Tip-off is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in Dahlonega, Ga.
