GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their monthly Freshman of the Month Award on Friday morning, Converse University athlete
Ander Vera Moleres (Pamplona, Spain) was named Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Month.
In his first collegiate race, Vera Moleres finished third overall at the Young Harris Opener with a time of 18:53.8 (6K). The freshman helped the men's cross country team win their first ever race with a total score of 26 points. The Valkyries beat out Young Harris by three points and Truett-McConnell by 57 points in the standings.
At the Converse Kickoff, Vera Moleres was the top freshman on the Valkyries cross country team as he crossed the line in 64
th place. In his first collegiate eight kilometer race the freshman ran a time of 26:58.8. Vera Moleres helped the Valkyries finish as the top Conference Carolinas program with 190 points.
Vera Moleres and the rest of the men's cross country team will be back in action next week at the Sand Shark Invitational in Beaufort, S.C.
