Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Valkyries Win Shootout Against Cobras, Jamison Sets School Record for Points in a Game

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  For the first time in program history, the Converse University men's basketball team had two players finish with at least 25-points, as the Valkyries defeated Coker 107-104 on Wednesday night inside the Weisiger Center.

Converse guard CJ Jamison (Greer, S.C.) reset the record books on Wednesday night, when he scored 33-points against Coker. Jamison tied his career high with the 33-point mark and joined fellow Valkyrie guard Uzziah Dawkins (Spartanburg, S.C.) as the only members of the 30-point club in program history.

Dawkins the reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Week posted his third straight 25-plus point outing, as he scored 28-points in the win. Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) and Joel Pullen (New Haven, Conn.) both added 14 and 13-points respectively in the win.

With the win Converse improves to 11-5 overall on the season, while Coker falls to 9-8 overall on the year. This is third time this season the Valkyries have eclipsed the 100-point mark and they finish the regular season with a 5-1 record against the South Atlantic Conference.
