SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse University head Spirit coach Molli Hensley has announced the signing of 6 athletes for the upcoming 2023-24 spirit season.
"I am looking forward to seeing the talent of all of our new recruits on our team," Hensley said. "I am confident that these ladies will be an asset to the Spirit Squad. As a new coach, I am excited to see the growth of the team and I can't wait to continue to add skills to the Spirit Squad."
Gurjot Bahia is from Boiling Springs, S.C. and competed at Dorman High School. Also attended Spartanburg Early College high school and was a member of both National Honors Society and Beta Club.
Anna-Marie Jones is from Smyrna, S.C. and competed at Blacksburg High School. Outside of cheer, Jones was part of the Southern Dance Academy, Beta Club, National Honors Society, Junior Ambassadors and HOSA. Jones, was also the secretary of Blacksburg High School and secretary of Beta Club. As a member of HOSA, Jones helped the club to a second-place finish in the state of South Carolina in community awareness.
Samantha Condrey is from Boiling Springs, S.C. and competed at Boiling Springs High School. Condrey was a member of Beta Club, Mock Trial, Teacher Cadets, Honors Choir and the Upstate Region Choir. Condrey was also named Miss Congeniality at Boiling Springs High School.
Sloane Kinley is from Spartanburg, S.C. and competed at Dorman High School. Outside of cheer, Kinley is a third degree black belt in martial arts and has won two national titles, three regional titles in forms, weapons, point sparring and continuous sparring. Outside of athletics Kinley was a member of Beta Club, National Honors Society, Student Government and was both a sophomore and junior class representative.
Kanaria Nash is from Moore, S.C. and competed at Dorman High School. Outside of cheer, Nash was a member of National Honors Society, Beta Club and Leo Club.
Emmalee Nutter is from Taylors, S.C. and attended Stoneledges Prep-SCAIHS. Nutter was a competitive dancer and cheerleader throughout her prep career and cheered for Greer high school during her senior year.
