SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University women's tennis team fell to Emmanuel 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Converse tennis courts.
With the loss Converse falls to 3-12 overall and 0-5 in Conference Carolinas action, while Emmanuel improves to 8-6 overall and 4-0 in Conference Carolinas play.
Despite losing on the first two doubles courts, the Valkyries No.3 pairing of

Lais Martins won the final court 6-4 to avoid the sweep for Converse. Emmanuel still earned the doubles point to take an early 1-0 advantage over the Valkyries.
Khushi Kharb tied the match up at 1-1 with a straight sets win at the No. 2 singles court.
Tonya Glogowski-Watson picked up a hard fought three sets win to give the Valkyries their second point of the match. Unfortunately, the Valkyries lost on the final four courts in straight sets to give the Lions the victory.

The Converse women's tennis team will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against King University at 1:00 p.m.
