SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's and women's tennis teams defeated King University 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Converse Tennis Courts.
In doubles action, the Valkyries top tandem of
Tonya Glogowski-Watson/
Khushi Kharb defeated their opponents easily with a 6-0 win. The Valkyries No. 2 doubles pairing of
Natalie White/
Sofia Giaraldo-Jimenez defeated their opponent 6-3. King had to forfeit the final doubles court and the Valkyries took a 1-0 lead into singles action.
Once again King was forced to forfeit on the fifth and sixth singles courts and gave the Valkyries and early 3-0 advantage. The Valkyries took care of business with wins from Glogowski-Watson, Kharb and
Lais Martins. Kharb improves to 4-2 in Conference Carolinas action, while Glogowski-Watson and Martins improved to 3-3 in conference play.
On the men's side, the Valkyries jumped out with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles flight to take the crucial doubles point. The Valkyries top duo of

Enzo Marcheschi finished off the doubles sweep with a win in the tiebreaker set.
In singles action the Valkyries quickly clinched the match with straight set wins at the No. 2, No.3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 courts.
Parker Davis and
Cameron Davies both picked up their first win of the season, while
Marty Letessier improved to 7-7 overall and
Leopold Morel improved to 11-5 overall this season.
The Converse University tennis teams will have almost a week off before battling the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey on April 4
th.
