SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's tennis team defeated Emmanuel 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon at the Converse tennis courts.
With the win the Valkyries improve to 4-11 overall and 2-3 in Conference Carolinas action this season. Emmanuel meanwhile drops to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in Conference Carolinas play.

Marty Letessier and the Valkyries No. 3 team picked up wins to give the Valkyries the early 1-0 advantage. The Valkyries top doubles team of

Enzo Marcheschi fell in a tiebreak to their Emmanuel counterparts.
In singles action, Bellet gave the Valkyries a 2-0 lead with a straight sets win at the No.1 singles court. Emmanuel picked up their first points of the match with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 singles flights. Morel gave the Valkyries a 3-2 advantage once again with a win at the No. 5 singles flight but Emmanuel tied the match up with a win at the No.6 singles court.
Marty Letessier won the opening set at the No. 4 singles court as the pressure began to mount with the match on the line. After dropping the third set the match went to a decisive third set, Letessier came out on top and gave the Valkyries their second conference win of the season.

The Converse men's tennis team will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against King University at 1:00 p.m.
