SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 13 Lander on Thursday afternoon at the Converse Tennis Courts.
In doubles action the Bearcats took two of the three doubles courts, with the Valkyries No. 2 tandem of
Leopold Morel and
Marty Letessier winning the only court for Converse. That proved to be the bright spot of the match as the Valkyries had a rough time during the singles portion of the match.
The Valkyries went down 3-0 quickly after
Enzo Marcheschi and
Cameron Davies lost in straight sets on courts No. 2 and No. 6. The Bearcats clinched the match with a win at the No. 3 singles court and they completed the sweep with wins at the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 courts.
Leopold Morel put up the best fight for the Valkyries as he lost in a first set tiebreaker to Markus Sorenson at the No. 5 court.
