Third Annual Golf Tournament Breaks Records for the Converse Athletic Department

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University athletic department held their third annual golf tournament last week at the Carolina Country Club and it was a huge success for both the players and the athletic department.

This year's tournament saw a tournament record high 23 teams and 93 golfers in the field. The Converse Athletic Department raised just over $30,000 at this year's golf tournament and set a new department record in the process.

"Our third annual golf tournament exceeded our expectations, and we could not be more pleased! Converse University Director of Athletics Jenn Bell went on to say, "All of our sponsors and participants showed up big this year, as we had a record number in each category. We are so very thankful for their continued support of Converse Athletics. We are especially grateful for our lead sponsors, Gibbs International, Inc., Brown & Brown and Travelers Insurance, and Harper General Contractors. We also want to thank our partners who provided several of our tournament gifts. Converse Athletics continues to raise the bar, academically and athletically, and we know the support of donors at events like our golf tournament will help us provide even more for our student-athletes. Be on the lookout for next year's tournament date, and be sure to sign up early."
