SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse softball team dropped two Conference Carolina games to the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Tuesday afternoon.
Game 1 Final: LMC 14-2 Converse

Records: Converse (1-31, 0-8 Conference Carolinas), Lees-McRae (10-16, 4-4 Conference Carolinas)
Game 1 Notes
- Bottom 1 – Converse would be down 2-0 to start off the bottom of the first inning. Brooklyn McElrath would be the first Valkyrie on base as she singled to left field. Grace McKinney followed by grounding out to shortstop, but it allowed McElrath to advance to second. On Maggie Griffis' single to center field, McElrath would score the first run of the game for the Valkyries.
- Bottom 3 – The Bobcats scored five runs in the top of the third to make it a 7-1 game. Ryan Finazzo got on base for Converse off of a single to center field. McKinney grounded out, but it advanced Finazzo to second. Griffis once again singled to center field, sending Finazzo home to put another run up on the board for the Valkyries.
- Lees-McRae scored seven more runs between the fourth and fifth innings to take game one 14-2.
- Griffis (1-9) pitched 3.1 innings with one strikeout. Belle Roper also pitched 1.2 innings with one strikeout.
Game 2 Notes
- Lees-McRae took game two by a score of 3-0.
- Emily Ingle (0-1) pitched all seven innings, recording five strikeouts in the process.
