SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University athletic department has selected
Hayden Gensler and
Ava O'Sullivan as the October Athletes of the Month for the 2022-2023 school year.
In the month of October, Gensler earned Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week honors and scored goals in five of the six games played during the month. Gensler finished the month with six goals, one assist, 13 points, 18 total shots and 12 shots on goal. Most recently Gensler was named Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year for his performance on the soccer pitch.
O'Sullivan earned Conference Carolinas Freshman Golfer of the Month for the second time this fall and was also a two-time golfer of the week in the month of October. Going into the final week of October, the freshman was nationally ranked at No. 58 in the country. O'Sullivan tied the Conference Carolinas record for Golfer of the Week Awards and at the Lee Ann Nobel Memorial Tournament, O'Sullivan defeated 10 nationally ranked players.
