Converse started the game off on the right foot, getting an early four-point lead as
Alisa Davenport and
Amaia Parkins each scored good jumpers. A layup from Kalisha Hill would put Limestone up on the board before the Valkyries went on a 5-0 run. Being up 9-4 with almost four minutes left in the quarter, Converse would soon be taken over by the Saints as they regained the lead. Three points from the Saints would give them the 15-11 advantage going into the second quarter.

Sydney Wilson would bring Converse back within six points of the lead. A three ball from Quin Byrd with 18 seconds left on the clock would allow Limestone to go into the halftime break up 36-23.
