JOHNSON CITY, T.N. – The Converse University women's track and field team had a great outing at their first day of the ETSU Invitational.
In the final of the triple jump, Mackenzie Whiteside placed fourth,
Nashayla Warren placed seventh and
Janyia Pinckney finished ninth with marks of 10.67 meters, 10.29 meters and 9.78 meters respectively. Pinckney also placed in the top five in the high jump with a leap of 1.45 meters.
In the prelims of the 60-meter dash,
Daeja Belton finished with a time of 8.00 seconds, followed closely behind by teammate
Aaliyah Morgan who posted a time of 8.05 seconds.
Emmalee Dobson finished in the top 20 in the finals of the 400-meter event, clocking in at 1:07.51. Finishing in the top 12 in the 5000-meter event,
Ashley Sosa had a time of 19:55.66.
Next Up:
The Valkyries women's track and field team will compete tomorrow, January 15, to finish out the ETSU Invitational.
