Central, SC- Wins at the end of the season are never assumed and they certainly take full energy and focus to come away with. That is just what the Valkyries did tonight as they ripped away a 5 set win from the hands of Southern Wesleyan. Taking the first two sets, the Valkyries seemed to be cruising in the match but a never-say-die Warriors squad produced back to back set wins to tie the match at 2. Heading into the decisive set, the Valkyries rose to the occasion again to finish off the pesky Southern Wesleyan side 15-9 and win the match 3-2. This will be a valuable game to finish the regular season with as playing with a lead, and winning decisive sets will be important components in making a playoff run. The win tonight also secured the highest conference winning percentage in program history and a 5th place seed in next weeks Conference Carolinas Tournament.
