Franklin Springs, GA- The Valkyries Women's Soccer team traveled to Emmanuel on Wednesday to face the Lions in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The format for this years tournament is three different groupings that play in a round robin format. Converse is included in the group with Emmanuel and Mount Olive for a chance to advance past the pool play stage.
Converse was under immense pressure from Emmanuel from the very beginning of the game as they held high pressure and really tested the Valkyrie defense which had been strong all year. Hannah Logue would get the scoring started for the Lions as she took a pass from Rachel Wegesend and beat
Darian Bankston for the goal in the 4th minute. Viki Lederer would join in on the scoring as she added a goal of her own in the 31st minute. Converse would enter the halftime break facing a 2-0 deficit. Hannah Logue would add another goal to her tally with a penalty kick goal in the 53rd minute. Converse would fall to Emmanuel this evening, 3-0, effectively ending the Valkyries season.
