Spartanburg, SC- Chipping away has been a theme throughout the 2021 season for this team and Sunday proved to be a momentum gaining break through. A team that has found themselves on the wrong end of close games so far this season finally was able to rectify that today. Izzy Fangman put the Valkyries on the scoreboard in the 29th minute with a powering shot from 30 yards out that soared just below the crossbar and into the net. This goal would come as the only one for either team on the day despite a multitude of chances for each team in front of goal. The Valkyries would dominate possession and create 11 shots for themselves on the day. Darian Bankston kept a clean sheet on her senior day while recording 6 saves for the Valkyrie defense. 19 players recorded minutes in the match making for a total team win as they head into the final matches of the season. 



On the Pitch: Converse will return to action on Tuesday when they make the short drive to take on Spartanburg Methodist College. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
