Spartanburg, SC- Saturday was a nip and tuck battle between two very competitive teams. Converse jumped out to a 4-2 lead 7 minutes into the game behind a Sharlize Burgos goal but would finish the 1st half down 7-5. The Bobcats would control the early portion of the second half rattling off 4 unanswered goals in a 13 minute span to boost their lead to 11-5. The Valkyries had no quit however, as they would respond with 4 unanswered goals themselves to close the gap to 11-9. Time ran out on the Valkyries though as the Bobcats would add a late goal to finish off the scoring for the afternoon. Avenging this loss will be fresh on the mind as the Valkyries travel to Southern Wesleyan for another Conference Carolinas battle on Thursday at 7:00.
