Spartanburg, SC- Valkyrie Women's Field Hockey took the field at home for the first time in the 2021 season and performed like they were glad to be there. Morgan Berndt got the scoring started in the 3rd minute of the game before Samantha White added a goal herself midway through the second quarter. The Valkyries would get 2 more goals from Elizabeth Wypych and Julia Matthijssen to cap off the scoring. The Valkyrie defense had a strong showing as well holding the Trojans scoreless and without a shot on goal. Valkyrie freshman also got in on the act as 4 of them recorded their first collegiate points. The win moves the Valkyries to 1-3 on the year and they will continue their campaign March 21st with a home date versus Coker.
