SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University field hockey team defeated Queens University (N.C.) 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at McCracken Field as they improved to 5-0 in home games this season.
Converse (8-5, 7-3) recorded their third shutout of the season and starting goalkeeper
Ciriaca Petitto earned her second shutout of the season in the process. The Valkyries have now won five straight games dating back to an October 3
rd win over Coker University.

Bo Linders passed the ball to
Catalina Pistaccio for the opening goal of the contest. Five minutes later,
Samantha White found
Elizabeth Wypych for the second goal of the game. In the 55
th minute of the game
Mira Polzer scored her fourth goal of the season to give the Valkyries a 3-0 lead over the Royals.
Converse outshot Queens 17-4 overall on the day and 10-2 in shots on goal. The Royals made seven save, while Petitto made just two saves to preserve the shutout for the Valkyries. Converse attempted nine corners, while Queens attempted five corners.
