David Windmiller

David Windmiller, originally from Sautee, Georgia, completed his third season as the Valkyries' assistant coach in the 2025 season. He joined the coaching staff for men's and women's soccer following a two-year run as the men's team's goalkeeper. A 2023 alum of Converse University, he was the first to suit up in a goalkeeper's kit for the Converse University men's soccer team.

As the goalkeepers coach, Windmiller has guided two Valkyries to All-Conference honors: Mateo Sanchez (2024, First Team) and Harry O'Brien (2025, Second Team)

With Windmiller as the team's assistant, the 2024 Valkyries reached the final site of the Conference Carolinas Championship for the third consecutive year. The Valkyries followed by hosting Converse's first-ever NCAA tournament game in any sport. As an assistant coach with the women's team in 2024, the Valkyries made their first appearance in the Conference Carolinas Championship since 2016, winning their first postseason game since 2015.

Windmiller spent the summer of 2024 coaching with Appalachian FC, a member of the NPSL. Appalachian FC went undefeated that season and reached a national ranking of No. 4. They won the conference regular season championship and reached the conference championship match in the postseason. Appalachian FC qualified and competed in the US Open Cup that season.

Windmiller spent the summer of 2025 with the SC United Bantams, a position he expects to return to in the summer of 2026.

Windmiller has previous coaching experience at Tallulah Falls School in northwest Georgia where he served as the goalkeepers' coach during the 2021 season. His starting keeper at Tallulah Falls earned first team all-region honors.

In two seasons in the box for the Valkyries, Windmiller played a complete game in 36 of 38 total contests. The Valkyries won the two games in which he did not spend the full game time in the box by a combined score of 12-2. Windmiller was First Team All-Conference Carolinas following his fifth-year season in 2022. In 1,674 minutes in the box, Windmiller achieved a goals allowed average of 0.84 and held a 13-1-5 record. He ranked first in shutouts, shutouts per game, save percentage and goals against average. He was sixth in saves and ninth in saves per game.

Windmiller was named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week on Nov. 2, 2021 and earned Converse Athlete of the Month honors in November 2022. He was the 2022 Conference Carolinas Tournament MVP.
