McClendon has played the last four seasons at Old Dominion University and was team captain on the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Monarchs field hockey squads. The Virginia Beach native started and played in 84 games throughout her career at Old Dominion and recorded 30 career assists.

McClendon was a two-time Second Team All-Big East selection and a two-time All-Big East Tournament selection. The Virginia native was also an NFHCA Senior Team Member, an NFHCA National Academic Squad member and most recently a NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. McClendon graduated in the Spring of 2020 and is currently finishing up her graduate degree at Old Dominion.

Outside of Field Hockey, McClendon was a member of the Racial Equality Taskforce at Old Dominion. McClendon also participated in the USA Young Women's National Tournament in 2018 and was a two-time state champion at First Colonial.Â
