GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their weekly volleyball awards on Monday afternoon, Converse University senior setter
Alysha Arroyo was named Setter of the Week and freshman libero
Scarlett Xiong was named Libero of the Week.
Arroyo and Xiong helped the Valkyries to a 3-0 week with wins over Erskine, UNC Pembroke and Mount Olive. Xiong played in all 13 sets this past week and tallied 73 digs, 11 assists, 4 service aces and one kill. This is Xiong's first career player of the week honor.
This is the second straight week that Arroyo has taken home Setter of the Week honors. The senior finished this week with three straight double-doubles. Arroyo tallied 126 assists, 40 digs, 13 total blocks, 14 kills and 3 service aces. Arroyo recorded a .433 hitting percentage and a .938 serving percentage this week. This is Arroyo's fifth career weekly honor.
The Valkyries volleyball team will be back in action tomorrow evening against Augusta University.
