SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After spending the 2025-26 season as the team's interim head coach and being elevated in March, Converse University head women's basketball coach Kevin Lyons has rounded out his staff for the upcoming season with the addition of Ami Yezman as the team's assistant coach. She joins the Valkyries' staff after most recently serving in the same role at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.

"I am thrilled to add Ami to our coaching staff!" stated Lyons regarding his new hire. "Her former employers and colleagues raved about her outstanding work ethic, character and skill set, which she demonstrated throughout the interview process. Ami perfectly aligns with our core values and she shares my vision of building and maintaining a high-achieving women's basketball program at Converse."

Yezman graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in coaching in December 2023. She earned her MBA in Business Administration from Wayne State University in May 2026. During her time as a Spartan, she served as a student manager for both the women's basketball and women's soccer programs while earning Dean's List honors every semester.

"Throughout my coaching career, I have been passionate about building relationships, developing student-athletes, and helping teams achieve their goals. I look forward to investing in our student-athletes, connecting with the community, and helping our program compete at a championship level while developing outstanding young individuals"

Yezman spent the summer of 2022 serving as a women's basketball summer intern at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She has also spent stints as an assistant coach at Grosse Ile High School in Grosse Ile, Michigan and Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan.

During her free time as an undergraduate at MSU, Yezman was a member of the women's basketball club, the MSU pickleball club and the MSU Outdoors Club.
