CLEVELAND – For the third time in program history the Converse University Athletic Department is ranked in the final Learfield Directors' Cup Standings for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The Valkyries finished with 112 total points for a 165th place finish in this year's rankings. This is the highest ever finish for the Converse athletic department. Last year, the Valkyries finished with 75 total points and placed 189th overall. Prior to last season, the Valkyries were also featured in the 2022-2023 edition of the Learfield Cup Standings, with 25 total points and finished 237th overall.
The Converse University Track & Field teams tallied all 112 points for the department this season. Freshman sprinter Grace Davis (Greenville, S.C.) won the school's first ever National Championship when she crossed the finish line first in the 60-meter dash. Davis' win gave the Valkyries 51.5 points at the conclusion of the indoor track & field season.
At the conclusion of the Outdoor National Championships the Converse women's team contributed 33 total points, while the men's team added 27.5 points. Davis finished third in the 100-meter dash to tally all the points for the women's team. On the men's side Devron Davis (Columbia, S.C.) finished seventh overall in the 200-meter dash. The 4x100 relay team of Davis, Dorian Bomar (Spartanburg, S.C.), Xavier Dixon (Fort Mill, S.C.) and Isaac Gilmore (Rock Hill, S.C.) finished eighth overall.
Converse was one of 12 Conference Carolinas schools featured in this years rankings. The Valkyries finished ahead of UNC Pembroke, Barton, Lees-McRae, North Greenville and Erskine.
