SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the first time since the fall of 2021 the Women's Tennis is the Valkyries Academic Excellence Award winner, the women's tennis team finished the semester with a 3.87 Grade Point Average.
Every semester Converse athletics teams strive to maintain a 3.1 team GPA or higher. The Valkyries Academic Excellence Award is presented to the team with the highest-grade point average at the end of a semester. The golf team and the women's tennis team are now tied for the record with four semesters, followed by the women's cross country team with three semesters.
The Athletic Department's GPA for the Spring 2026 semester was a 3.26, while the overall GPA for the academic year was 3.29 . This past spring 39 athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, 82 athletes recorded a 3.75-3.99 GPA, 50 athletes earned between a 3.50-3.74 GPA and 66 student-athletes recorded at least a 3.00-3.49 GPA this semester.
